This is a giclée print of the silhouette of Glasgow University. Founded in 1451, it's the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s finest. Along with the University of Edinburgh, the University was part of the Scottish Enlightenment during the 18th century.
These prints are created by firstly outlining the historical monument to create a silhouette, and then layering that artwork over a section of the specified area on a beautiful old map.
This print measures 17 x 17cm. We have a wide range of these prints covering many iconic buildings, monuments and statues from around our beautiful area of East Lothian, as well many famous landmarks from Scotland and the wider UK. A set of 4 framed Old Map Silhouettes hanging in a square formation (2 x 2) is a very striking design statement to enhance any wall, as are 3 (or 5) hanging side by side.
