This is a giclée print of the silhouette in black and grey of Greyfriars Bobby. This is the statue in Edinburgh to the honour of Greyfriars Bobby, a Skye terrier who became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for supposedly spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner, until he died himself on 14 January 1872.
These prints are created by firstly outlining the historical monument to create a silhouette, and then layering that artwork over a section of the specified area on a beautiful old map.
This print measures 17 x 17cm. We have a wide range of these prints covering many iconic buildings, monuments and statues from around our beautiful area of East Lothian, as well many famous landmarks from Scotland and the wider UK. A set of 4 framed Old Map Silhouettes hanging in a square formation (2 x 2) is a very striking design statement to enhance any wall, as are 3 (or 5) hanging side by side.
