Finnieston Crane Old Map

  • Sale
  • £15

This is a giclée print of the silhouette of the famous Finnieston Crane, also known as the Stobcross Crane, situated on the River Clyde in the centre of Glasgow, Scotland. This giant cantilever crane is no longer in working order, but is retained as a symbol of the city's engineering heritage. Erected in 1931 to load mainly large steam locomotives onto ships for export around the world. The crane can be seen in the background of news broadcasts from BBC Pacific Quay.

These prints are created by firstly outlining the historical monument to create a silhouette, and then layering that artwork over a section of the specified area on a beautiful old map.

This print measures 17 x 17cm. We have a wide range of these prints covering many iconic buildings, monuments and statues from around our beautiful area of East Lothian, as well many famous landmarks from Scotland and the wider UK. A set of 4 framed Old Map Silhouettes hanging in a square formation (2 x 2) is a very striking design statement to enhance any wall, as are 3 (or 5) hanging side by side.
